Bury have announced the signing of on loan Sheffield Wednesday winger Danny Mayor on a three year deal.

Mayor has been on loan at the club this season and made 41 appearances all in, scoring five times, and the club have now reached agreement with Sheffield Wednesday for a permanent deal to take place and Mayor has agreed, signing a three year deal in the process.

Speaking to the Bury Times chairman Stewart Day said that he believed the signing of Mayor was a statement of intent from the manager and the club.

‘It’s a signing we desperately wanted to make and one we have worked very hard on. I believe it shows the ambition of this club and I am delighted to have him on board.’

Mayor did have one year left on his deal at Sheffield Wednesday and it’s not yet clear if a fee has been paid, and if so, how much, but clearly the club and Flitcroft are working quickly to prepare the squad for next season and Mayor is a very good start on that given his performances so far.
