Bury have appointed Geoff Durbin as our new Chief Operating Officer ahead of the 2015-16 campaign.

Having built up over 30 years experience in the North West business and sporting communities over his career, he moves into Gigg Lane with a wealth of experience and in the region he has worked for two of the most iconic names in sport – Manchester City where he was Commercial Manager and until earlier this year, Lancashire County Cricket Club.

His role will see him responsible for the day to day operations of the club and he will also oversee the development and operation of our Commercial team.

Speaking to the Official Site after his appointment was made, Chief Executive Glenn Thomas explained.

‘To secure the services of someone with Geoff`s calibre is a real coup for this Club as it allows us to continue with the development of the infrastructure behind the scenes and assist us in developing the off field activities.’

Thomas went on to say that the first time they met with Geoff in the interview process, his enthusiasm for the role made him a stand out candidate and clearly he will be a ‘great asset’ for us as we move forward looking to consolidate ourselves in League One ahead of further growth in the future.

‘I look forward to working with him and I am sure with his wealth of contacts the doors he will open will only benefit the Club and help it move to the next level within its development process.’
