Nelson was offered a contract at Bury by manager Andy Preece after scout Peter Ward convinced him to give Nelson a chance. Between his time at Gigg Lane from 2001-2003 he made 79 appearances and scored 8 goals, he formed a strong defensive partnership with Danny Swailes.
Number 2 –
The player pictured was Jason Jarret and he is currently with Oldham Athletic. During his time at Gigg Lane he made 62 appearances, scoring 4 goals, since leaving he has worn the shirts of 11 clubs, totalling 14 clubs thus far in his career.
Number 3 –
The pictured was Chris Porter and his current club is Derby County. During his time at Gigg he made 79 appearances scoring just 18 goals, the majority of which came at the end of his spell, getting him a move to Oldham Athletic.
