Bury are represented in the latest Football League team of the week that has been selected after this week’s action.

The performance by Ian Lawlor in the one nil victory over Oldham at the weekend at Boundary Park was enough to earn them a place in the side alongside the other most impressive performers in the Football League pyramid.

I think we’ll already know ourselves, and not just based on the latest performance, why Lawlor was selected as part of the team but explaining the choice – the FL blurb read.

‘Lawlor produced a superb display as Bury made the short journey back from Oldham Athletic with all three points. The stopper, on loan from Manchester City, pulled off a string of saves as the Shakers recorded a 1-0 victory at their Greater Manchester rivals.’

It’s always good to see us represented in this way, and well played to Lawlor for his recognition, but the most important thing about the weekend was of course the three points.

Full Team:

Ian Lawlor (Bury), Stephen Hendrie (Southend United), Jake Wright (Oxford United), Moses Odubajo (Hull City), Anthony Knockaert (Brighton), Michael Mancienne (Nottingham Forest), Pelly Ruddock (Luton Town), Richie Wellens (Shrewsury Town), Will Buckley (Birmingham City), Sam Winnall (Barnsley), Paddy Madden (Scunthorpe United).

Manager – Kevin Nolan (Leyton Orient).
