Bury’s League 1 season continued with a one-nil defeat against Port Vale at Vale Park on Monday.

Having gone on such a long unbeaten away run Bury have now lost six-matches in a row away from Gigg Lane with Sam Kelly scoring a second half winner for Port Vale in this latest defeat.

Leon Clarke went close to securing a late point but his effort was saved by Port Vale ‘keeper Jak Alnwick.

We see some good wins as the festive season continued with the most impressive being the Millwall win at Southend when they won four-nil at Roots Hall!

Burton, Gillingham and Walsall all kept up their promotion bids with wins over Swindon, Colchester and Peterborough respectively.

Whereas at the other end of the table Barnsley and Shrewsbury ended the year on a high with four-two and two-one wins over Blackpool and Crewe.
