Manager David Flitcroft’s praise for the fans has been repeated today following the one nil FA Cup second round victory over Rochdale at the weekend, and goal scorer on the day, Danny Rose has also given his reaction to the way the match played out for Bury.

Quoted by the Official Site from his post game press interviews, the gaffer said firstly – and I covered this elsewhere – of the 2,144 fans that made the trip.

‘The following was incredible, I wasn`t surprised, but to walk out and see them all straight in front of you instead of behind the goal was outstanding and we purposefully let the lads go up to them during the warm-up. The lads came in after that and said ‘it`s electric out there boss` and that really gave me my team talk. It gave them a vibrancy, you could see that by the way we started and put two or three early crosses in to unsettle them.’

As for Rose, he was interviewed briefly at the full time whistle and he said that with the support of the fans and the noise they made, it felt like a home game to him.

‘The fans were brilliant today, it felt like a home game. Nearly 2,500 of them came and they were class, absolutely brilliant.’

Next up, Chesterfield at Gigg Lane and hopefully three points.
