Manager David Flitcroft has said he was delighted with how Bury took the game to York, and he was even more pleased to pick up all three points in the game.

The win came courtesy of goals from Anton Forrester and Nathan Cameron, and the gaffer told the press following the game – which also saw us climb out of the relegation places by two points.

‘You come up against a lot of rigid 442 teams but we got between them and caused them problems. We worked on it, it’s not lucky, and that’s what’s buzzed me up here. The lads have been really responsive to what I’ve asked them to do, I was pleased about many aspects of our play.’

Flitcroft was also delighted to see us score the way we did and at points he said that passages of play between the players were things ‘you go to bed and dream about,’ so there certainly many positives for him to take from the game and hopefully to build on in 2014.

The gaffer also confirmed that discussions were being had over on loan Forrester because he doesn’t want him to leave when his loan expires and he’d love to keep him here for longer, but ultimately the ball is in his parent clubs’ hands – Blackburn Rovers – and we need to see what they want to do first, but the gaffer is hoping they will be impressed with his time with us so far, and the minutes on the pitch he’s been given.
