Bury confirmed that they were happy to close their transfer window at about 9.30pm tonight, and the chairman has been delighted with what we’ve achieved.

Bury have signed 24 new players since the window opened this summer, and not only is Kevin Blackwell pleased with his strengthening this summer, he’s pleased to have seen the performances they have put in so far and he believes it bodes well for the future.

Chairman Stewart Day told the Official Site.

‘I cannot believe I was sat in the manager’s office only 8 weeks ago trying to plan a way forward and identify targets to be part of the future of this great club. I’m delighted to state that after a lot of hard work and many hours of scouting and planning, we have ended up with a great squad that can move forward with confidence this season. We now have quality in depth to cope with the challenges that this season will bring.!’

The chairman ends by calling on the fans to continue in their fantastic support as we head into the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy game tomorrow and then the league game at the weekend, and he moved to thank the fans for their patience given all the changes at the club.
