Bury are represented in the latest Football League team of the week that has been selected after this week’s action.

The performance by Danny Mayor in Bury’s one nil victory over Chesterfield at Gigg Lane at the weekend was enough to earn them a place in the side alongside the other most impressive performers in the Football League pyramid.

I think we’ll already know ourselves, and not just based on the latest performance, why Mayor was selected as part of the team but explaining the choice – the FL blurb read.

‘In tricky conditions at the JD Stadium, Mayor provided the moment of magic that moved Bury to the fringe of the Sky Bet League 1 Play-Off positions. His low finish secured a 1-0 win over Chesterfield and you can watch it below, although you might want to skip the first two minutes!’

It’s always good to see us represented in this way, and well played to Mayor for his recognition, but the most important thing about the weekend was of course the three points.

Full Team:

Frank Fielding (Bristol City), Damien McCrory (Burton Albion), Tom Aldred (Blackpool), Luke Chambers (Ipswich Town), Alfie Potter (Northampton Town), Liam Noble (Notts County), Conor Hourihane (Barnsley), Danny Mayor (Bury), Rhys Murphy (Crawley Town), Marc McNulty (Portsmouth), Francois Zoko (Yeovil Town).

Manager – Shaun Derry (Cambridge United).
