Bury are represented in the latest Football League team of the week that has been selected after this week’s action.

The performance by Cameron Burgess in the one nil victory over Charlton Athletic at the weekend at The Valley was enough to earn them a place in the side alongside the other most impressive performers in the Football League pyramid.

I think we’ll already know ourselves, and not just based on the latest performance, why Burgess was selected as part of the team but explaining the choice – the FL blurb read.

‘Bury recorded a fantastic 1-0 win away at Charlton Athletic, giving Lee Clark a second consecutive victory since taking charge of the Shakers. Burgess was in impressive form for the visitors, standing firm against all that the Addicks could throw at them.’

It’s always good to see the club represented in this way, and well played to Burgess for his recognition, but the most important thing about the weekend was of course the points.

Full Team:

Connor Ripley (Oldham Athletic), Alex Whitmore (Morecambe), James Chester (Aston Villa), Cameron Burgess (Bury), Jamie Murphy (Brighton), Josh Wright (Gillingham), David Davis (Birmingham City), Jota (Brentford), Conor McAleny (Oxford United), Billy Sharp (Sheffield United), Nicky Ajose (Swindon Town).

Manager – Paul Cook (Portsmouth).
