Bury have announced that Chris Brass has joined the club as new manager David Flitcroft’s assistant.

Brass is a former player and assistant manager of Bury, so he will know the surroundings well and be able to settle in immediately.

The deal was concluded on Wednesday and compensation was agreed with Torquay following them giving us permission to speak to him. The full details of the agreement with Torquay remain undisclosed.

The 38 year old former defender played 31 games for Bury back in the 2006-07 season before he then took over as the clubs Centre of Excellence Manager. Following the departure of Chris Casper, he then took up the role of caretaker manager and continued with the club as Alan Knill’s assistant when he took over the managerial duties.

Chris then continued to work with Alan during his spells at Scunthorpe, and more recently Torquay itself.

Expect this to be the first of a few backroom changes and additions as Flitcroft stamps his mark on the club.
