Despite losing today, Kevin Blackwell isn’t allowing himself to be too disheartened as he knows Bury are currently a work in progress and will improve as time goes on.

Speaking to the press following the game the manager said.

‘They’ve learned today and every week for the next six to ten weeks is going to be a big learning curve. We’re still two or three players short. I know exactly what they are but we have to make sure we get the right ones or it’s going to be a long, hard season.’

Blackwell did have positives from the game though as he knows if we’d took our chances we’d have won the game, but it’s the sharpness in the box we lacked today.
