Kevin Blackwell has admitted we are prioritising moves for a right back, a striker and a goalkeeper before the start of the season proper.

Speaking to the Bury Times the manager admitted he wanted a squad of at least 15 players who could more than do a job in the first team next season, and in the recent friendly he ran the rule over 17 potential trialists as he looks to add to our squad.

Tellingly he also commented that he was close to deals with ‘one or two of them’.

‘Looking at the squad we have now, we haven’t got a right back and we have four positions where we only have one person for that role, so we haven’t got any strength in depth.’

He adds that centre forward is another position where we need competition and although Trevor Carson is fit and ready to go, we need a back up for between the sticks.
